The Relation Between Language Learning Strategies and Achievement of English Language Learners

This study aims to determine the students’ strategy preferences and explore relationship between language learning strategies of students their academic achievement in skills. The research was conducted with participation 405 (F=162, M=243) preparatory program a school foreign languages at state university Turkey. In accordance purpose study, Turkish version Strategy Inventory Language Learning for English Learners Student Form (SILL-ELL Form) adapted by Ardeshava Tretter (2013) used gather data. As result, use metacognitive social strategies, among indirect more than other categories. Further, it found that moderately there is female superiority using strategies. addition, some sub-categories have an impact on skills measures test.
